Hey! Some of you may recognize me now lol. I’ve been looking at loads of different bikes and found one on fb marketplace that may work for me. The bike frame is brakeless but otherwise everything sounds good. Here’s the specs:
Bsd frame 21.4tt
Odyssey bars
Odyssey fork
Odyssey cranks / sprocket (25t)
Bsd tires
Profile stem
Gsport front wheel
Shadow cassette
4x odyssey pegs
Bsd seat
S&m seatpost
550 asking price.
As far as I know this is a pretty solid bike. I’m not completely new to bmx, but new to taking my bike to the skatepark and I’m not quite sure how the brakeless frame will work out. I’ve got a fit series 22 but wanted something a bit more nimble. Anyone have opinions?
I’m 6’4 and I’d go the complete route if I could get a decently priced 21+ inch tt. But those don’t really exist.
If there are any tall dudes my height that have gone with the whip xl and liked it, lmk!

Thats better than any complete at that price range youd ever be able to buy otherwise. Definitely go for it youll be happy its a solid set up!
That is one sweet trick machine!
Have you ridden brakeless before?
Literally everything on that build is top of the line. You can’t go wrong! 👌
Being 6.5” myself I just went from riding 20.75 and 21” frames all my life to a 21.8 BSD Safaru frame, and it is a game changer. Shorter frames fck your back up being tall, always hunched over, also you always hit your knees. I myself felt like I wasn’t able to progress much on the smaller frames because of this. You won’t go wrong if you get this one. And the price is pretty cheap for a bike with these parts. I got my frame alone for 400€.
Solid street build and for that prize is amazing too!
Would suggest maybe taking a cruise on your current setup without brakes first for sure as it can take some getting used to, but on the other hand definitely wouldn’t wanna miss out on picking this up either🤷🏼♂️
Like you said if you decide you want brakes again can always sell the frame and you’ve easily got your value in just the parts alone and then ofcourse the money from the frame to put towards a new one
This may sound like it doesn’t make a lot of sense for somebody that runs brakes but going brake less can teach you a lot like how to control speed, pumping etc without having your lever as a safety net & it is a lot of fun too, brakes are fun too!
You might really enjoy going brakeless in the long run. I started riding brakeless in my 40s (54 now). Definitely prefer it. Really taught me how to properly manual.
