I set off cycling from Newton towards Haigh Hall, hoping for a steady and enjoyable ride… but the weather had other ideas.

What started as a great route quickly turned into a soaking, and just when I thought I’d made it, puncture right at the end.

Still, it’s a fantastic ride with some brilliant scenery along the way.

If you’ve ever cycled this route (or had a ride go sideways!), let me know in the comments.

  1. What’s your worst “just made it… oh no I didn’t” moment on a ride? 🚴‍♂️

I thought I’d finished this one… then the puncture hit right at the end 😅

Also—have you ever cycled out to Haigh Hall?

  2. nice ride mate a pity about the Puncture you need to put slime in the tyres green bottle in each tyre no more flats I have done 2200 miles no flats on my fat wheel engwe pro

  3. Always interesting to view videos of routes you have cycled yourself, used to live near Haigh Hall, wonderfull place to explore in summer with miles of tracks and a good cafe. Love watching your videos.

  4. A much nicer route to get you where you joined the canal is to go up Southworth Road, Newton Road, Stone Cross Lane, Slag Lane, Plank Lane, and join the canal at Pennington Marina (Turn left down the canal).
