Reminder: you need to be insanely polite and respectful of the hikers and horses etc. we share trails with. And you need to be protective. Pick up litter. Yell at the people breaking rules or being disrespectful to others, be above refute. It’s not all it takes but it helps a ton with keeping trails open and potentially getting more.

This is Houston and Texas’ culture as a whole towards biking. It sucks to try and get outdoors in Houston.

Idk about this story but in general the suing/liability/safety/insurance etc culture of America fucking sucks. People and organizations let fear of being sued rule everything in this capitalist hellscape. Also, if you show up to MTB you should assume all risks, if a rotted piece of wood snaps and you break your collarbone, tough shit, walk your ass to the hospital and move on with life.

Same thing happened to big cedar in DFW.

These are some of our only good trails in the city and demolition has already begun. It’s sad, my local trails for 15 years being torn up today.
