To me it Looks Like someone painted it. I would refund it if I was you. Could be a repaired Frame or someone just repainted it due to scratches.

If it is second hand i wouldnt Risk it. You can only know for sure what happens if you know the seller and he is honest with you.

I’d not ride that frame anymore.

This does look like a delamination of the carbon layup. It should be inspected by and fixed by a carbon professional.

It looks like something is delaminating. Let the LBS tell you whether it’s the paint or the carbon.

Every time I see a post like this, all I can think of is how effectively the bicycle industry has scammed people into believing that they need carbon fiber, and how much less stressed the average bicycle owner would be if they just had a steel aluminum or titanium bike instead of carbon fiber

  5. Sorry mate, that doesn’t look like a paint crack, but the carbon layup: that’s probably a reinforcement on that area that has delaminated. Contact Orbea and get it replaced.

I agree with the other comments saying it’s delamination, it wouldn’t be in this rectangular pattern otherwise.

  7. Paint doesn’t crack in a perfectly squared off manner. That’s the pattern of a layer of fiber cloth coming delaminated.

    That’s a warranty issue.

It’s not the paint, it’s delamination and it’s probably covered by your warranty.
