A happy user of 180mm rotor adapters checking in…
11:45 Your own pronunciation of Schwalbe after saying pretty sure it's German was spot-on.
Is that Igpsport binavi? How was is it holding up on bikepacking trip? Cheers for video!
Must've been a terrible misprinting accident with those calenders!
Put tent poles on top of top tube?
Did you use any frame protection? How is the paint under the straps?
Love my Altera but I wish I had gone with the bigger size I was between 56 and 58 the stack on 56 is pretty low. I put nylon screws on the mount holes. 8.4kg with Lightbicycle WG44 wheels DT240exp hubs bombproof. 180mm front disc is great.
Ortlieb Quick rack with their thru axle, I can load it pretty heavy and not worry about anything breaking. Seat tube is a bit too slack for me my saddle is slammed forward. The Yoeleo Proflex seattube has barely any flex but work well I replaced with Elita One master post with flex.
Thanks! First time I notice your saddle tilted forward that much…was it for the climbs?
Re the front mount..The thing with brackets on bikes is that aluminium is crap, stainless steel not much better, standard steel that likes to rust is the way to go if you want it to be reliable. Also stick with cables for everything trekking wise so it can be fixed or bodged on the side of the road by a passing goat farmer.👍
how the slovenian water ? does it make u climb with 6,8+ w/kg like Somebody
lmao people who compare things to ak-47s usually just reveal their gun ignorance…
it's pretty cool overall. I just can't never understand why I should sacrifice simplicity over some e-tech – it's just extra stuff to break, especially on longer tours
plop a 1x transmission with appropriate ratio, schwalbe marathons and just ride – I forget I even have a bike
Do you have a link for the 180mm rotor adaptors by any chance?
What is your opinion on topeak tetraracks? They specifically say that the gravel (or mtb) one is not meant for carbon forks but they did make a road version that didn't have the warning. I absolutely hate having the tent drybag horizontally mounted on the handlebar but it is fairly heavy (tent plus poles is about 3kg), so i was looking into ways to rack mount it on the front.
Killer video as always
When bike packing, the last thing you ever need is endless maintenance – the gears and wheel issues must really have grated 😢
remember kids, stay mechanical.
Wow, you really got a nasty collection of problems on that trip. But I do appreciate realizing you are evaluating things as a 'clydesdale' rider. So many others (manufacturers and reviewers) cannot imagine 120kg on a bike and design accordingly. It's nice to know that at least someone is putting a 'normal' load on things.
