Hey Guys and Girls, i am currently in the alps with some friends, doing a little loop from Innsbruck to Cortina d'Ampezzo, Verona etc. and we want to travel back through Bozen to Sterzing. Now i am a little lost. Which Route would you Guys recommend?

(Traveling with Gravelbikes & Camping Gear)

Option A: Bozen – Meran – Jaufen – Sterzing

Probably the most scenic, but also very hard. The group is strong and motivated, but the big concern is the weather..

Option B: Bozen – Brixen – Sterzing

The safest option, but also the one we travelled by car a lot of times

Option C: Bozen – Sarntheim – Monterosso – Penser Joch – Sterzing

Mostly unknown – i dont know how good the route is for bikepackers – are there bikepaths or alternative routes?

Would love to get some feedback 🫶🏼

  1. Me and my brother did the yellow route, it was a nice descent which was mostly bikelane if i am not mistaken, even did it in one go 80km i believe. It was quite cool, plenty of eateries and it was mainly along the river so fun stuff. Enjoy! We did Innsbruck to Verona and it was one of the best trips we ever had!

  2. Option A: Doable route, my favorite.

Option C: Penser Joch with camping gear sounds like a tough ride and I think you have to get through some tunnels uphill if I’m not wrong.
