I’m wanting to treat myself to a new road helmet, but struggling to make a decision. I’m liking the look or either the POC Omne or ABUS Powerdome, but there’s no retailer local (UK) that has either (or many in general) So it’s likely to be online ordering, price wise between £120 to £160 is my budget

So any recommendations either way or other helmets would be appreciated.

I have the POC Omne and I’m a fan. I’ve used Giro before and the POC is definitely a step up from my last one. Shape is better on on my head, comfortable fit, and the size chart on their site was accurate. I also like the color choices of the omne, so admittedly that was part of my decision.

If you aren’t in a hurry, POC does run sales from time to time – I picked up a Ventral Air at quite a discount last year off of them and been happy with it.

  3. Out of those two, I’d buy the POC, simply because there’s no adjusting the straps on the Abus to accommodate my larger than usual ears with attached lobes.

The poc one is great. I am changing from this one to a Kask elemento tho.

Head shape is personal but I have had a few brands then bought a POC and will never go back.

Poc has a lot more strap adjusment options whereas Abus has its straps sawn in one position which sucks for a “premium” helmet.

  7. I love the look of the POC but the shape didn’t work for me. Helmets are more fit dependent than you would expect and are kind of personal.

I like POC, but beware— they update quickly and do not support those helmets that are no longer up front. Need replacement padding, tough luck.

Just returned one Abus because of lacking adjustments on the straps. Felt like I was choking

Never tried the Abus but had that poc omne air and worst glasses garage ever. Could barely hold any glasses. Comfort a decent but you pay for what you get. Upgraded to a sweet protection falconer and night and day comfort, held any glasses so well.

  11. I had to choose between the exact same two! I went with the POC and couldn’t be happier!!

Thanks everyone, seems the POC is the one for me! Great to have the feedback about fitting especially the strap adjustment 🙏🙏
