So, the other day I got home without my light, it fell off somewhere along the way. I didn’t leave the bike unattended, wasn’t riding off-road or on rough terrain, just a casual ride. My guess is it either popped off while riding or somehow came loose when I was folding the rear triangle during a stop. Pretty frustrating, considering the price.

As for the light itself, it’s bright, has plenty of modes, good battery life, and charges via USB-C. But the mount is poorly designed and unreliable. There’s basically no locking mechanism, it relies on a tiny magnet and a bit of friction.

It lasted me less than a year. I won’t be buying it again and just hoping for better luck, at this price the mount should be as reliable as possible.

Given that it got lost for no real reason, I can’t recommend it to fellow riders anymore. Time to look for an alternative.

Knogg lights have flimsy or terrible mounts, but the lights themselves are decent.

  2. Knog lights are great, their mounts are absolutely appalling, years ago I had one of their fixed rubber mount lights, it snapped within a year

I had the light snap in the mount when rolling it on the rack – had to rebuy the light, then the mount snapped not long after from the same problem.

Knog replaced the mount the second time.

I then had it fall off the seat rail mount on a ride with my other bike. Stupid thing.
