Meniscus tear??

The good news is- it’s common that a meniscus can actually heal itself. It does depend on how the tear happened and where it happened ☝🏽

It you can’t pinpoint exactly when the tear happened but you started to notice it hurting along the joint line of the knee- there’s a good chance it could heal itself 🤔

This is called a degenerative meniscus tear.

One of the best conservative ways to treat a torn meniscus is actually exercise 👏🏼

Here are three examples in this video to help heal a torn meniscus. Please note that these exercises shouldn’t increase pain substantially. If they do, add a modification or change up the movement ⚠️

The exercises done in standing are both double limb exercises, meaning both feet are on the ground accepting equal weight. This is because most pain is felt when bearing full weight on one leg 🦵🏽

These repetitions provided are simply suggestions and can be changed as necessary 🙌🏼

There is hope, even if you have a torn meniscus!

  1. How far along the healing process should I do this? Today was the first I actually walked after I buckled my knee 7 times a week from today. Only because I got a brace on, still feels weak.

  2. If I may, what have you done to get your outer thighs to be so well developed? I need to get muscle back right here on my left leg. Thank you for these videos. Im eatin them up 🙂

  3. Hey Alyssa, Your exercises are really helping thank you. I also suffer from poor circulation in both lower legs, do you have any vids for that? Thank you and you're doing an amazing job

  4. thanks for the video but… these are NOT the exercises to do when you have knee problems OR arthritis! says who? look up el paso manual physical therapy

  5. are these done to prevent (before) injury or during recovery? I don't want to aggravate the injury by doing something that should/would have been done before injury as my knee is hurting right now, probably already injured.

  6. Just saw this.

    Love it.
Whenever your videos helped me learn the heal.Race toe raise sidestep et cetera.

    Just had meniscectomy (sp).

I'm still doing your exercises. I am a bendy person and stretches.Help me feel good. I know i'm also very stiff and weak in many muscles. So after surgery, i'm still doing your exercises and strengthening the muscles around.

    .So thank you very much.

    Happy New Year.

  7. I had a knee injury after a bad fall off a hill two months ago. I was improving but heard a pop yesterday and now can’t put any weight on it. I do not want surgery and know I can heal my knee naturally even if it takes longer. You are the answer to prayer that I was looking for. I know I’ll be back to dancing and they gym in time! Thank you!

  8. Thankyou for this, would this be ok with grade 1 mcl injury aswell as meniscus tear, when you still a little unstable on your feet.

  9. I literally had the tear while working out on them(legs and glutes) , I also was very careful and slow with my progress I rested enough too but still i fucked it up and mind you I had no prior issue, so I hate it all and never wanna strength train again :(((

  10. I'm glad I found this video. I tore my miniscus 5 months ago and I haven't been given any exercises to do. Still awaiting MRI scan results. So I'll get going on these exercises.
