Hi there,
I am about to build a new touring bike that will be my go-to ride for future trips and long tours. So racks front and rear, panniers, flared dropbars and so on.

Now, there is always these big companies and of course, we all know them. Shimano, SRAM, Campa and Microshift.

Since I am not sure where to start, I have decided to look for a crankset and derailleurs. Probably gonna go with TRP Spyre brakes and SON dynamo hub wheelset (gonna build it myself).

So what are lesser known brands that make decent cranksets or even derailleurs that are suitable for touring in a 2 x 10 or 2 x 11 setup? If possible, I'd like a square taper one standard, although it is not a necessity.

Thx!

Rohloff, gates belt drive, 46t front sprocket  24t rear sprocket, EEwings crankset.

It isn’t 2x, but the Shimano Alivio 3×9 22-32-44 crank is such a hidden gem. Better climbing gear than the „better“ 3×10 Deore and YT cranks, and they work perfectly fine with a 10 or 11 speed chain.

Get em while they last. Cues will phase them out.
