  1. you just need a new derailleur hanger. let me know if you need help finding the one for your frame

  2. You need to buy a replacement for the rear derailleur hanger: visit your bike manufacturer’s website and check the part number.

  3. Looks like the derailleur hanger did what it is supposed to do and broke. Hopefully instead of the derailleur. If your lucky you will only have to order that 10 dollar part and change two screws. Can’t really say more from this picture

Derailleur hanger broke. It’s supposed to. When you order a replacement, order a spare so you have one on hand for next time.

  5. Need a new derailleur hanger, frame specific. Without seeing the hanger pieces together it will be tough to identify which one you need. A new rear derailleur for a race wouldn’t be unwarranted, you can check the model number on the unit imprinted on it. Get a new chain.

  6. How great must this news be, you thought your bike was totaled and it appears you only need to spend a few dollars to get a new hanger! ☺️

Probably not at all. Hanger fid exactly what it should do- snap. Replace it and you will be fine.

P.S. grab few spare hangers and put 1 into your saddle bag.

  8. It looks like you are already over your head, you should probably bring it to your LBS.

  9. Hanger $20-35

    Derailleur $30-40

    Chain $20

Inspection of frame and wheels, incl labour cost to fit and tune.

This could be a simple fix or become a three digit repair cost. Take to your LBS for a proper inspection. Glad you’re okay!

Derailleur plate also looks bent, might be able to change it out, but changing the whole derailleur isn’t much more expensive

  11. new derailleur hanger and new pulley wheel

there is a chance the derailleur is bent

if you choose to fix the derailleur pulley instead of replacing the derailleur then its a good idea to put some locktight on the threads after installing the pulley as they can come loose while you are riding causing a similar drivetrain failure to the one you are experiencing

If you have no idea how fucked you are in this situation and have a race on May 2nd, then I would say you should bring the bike to repair tomorrow at store opening. Ask them to have a more global look at your bike before the race.
