I bought a ultrasonic cleaner recently, I love it so much.

I give it the ultra bath once a week. so cleannnnnn

  2. When I hear or feel some crunch or grit. I like my drivetrain silent & smooth. If I’m riding regularly, might be once every week and a half to 2 weeks.

Every 150 miles or so; this its weekly I clean it with a rag. Every other time I spray it down with degreaser and deep clean it before lubing again. Or when I start having issues shifting.

I ride a lot in poor water and the roads are poor quality, so the chain gunks quickly.

  4. When it needs it.

I give it a quick brush to knock any thing off the chain.

I give the chain a quick wipe down with a rag that’s soaked in a little WD-40.

Wait 15 minutes and then apply Maxima Chain Wax.

15 minutes later, all the volatiles have evaporated away, leaving behind high strength lube.

Ask for frequency? I was probably doing this about every week to 2 weeks.

Gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers in this racket. I myself, I lube my chain at least twice a day.

  6. Commute bike is a belt…so never.

Weekend bikes have waxed chains, so typically need a re-wax once a year or so, depending how much I ride them.

  7. Full clean and paraffin wax dip every 500-700 miles, or if it starts shifting poorly.

On my ebike, typically every 300 miles, more often if salt or gravel/sand grit get in there.

On my regular bike never. This is likely related to the fact that it has no chain – belt drive ftw

  9. Usually every 1 to 2 months. My bike isn’t elctric, so I go by how it feels when I pedal.

  10. I wax. Probably once a week during peak season (I use my bike for far more than commuting).

About once a month ish. Really depends on the amount of rides and the weather.

  12. Anyone else live somewhere where it’s really hard to clean your bike? I’d honestly pay for the service if anyone offered it.

I think GCN had a video and they demonstrated that dirty chains don’t bleed watts that much. Chainline has a bigger impact (sorry 1x bros)

  14. There’s construction all around my commute so there’s more sand and dust on my chain than the Sahara every day. I wasted so much time doing it than I only do it on friday afternoon now.

    Just did it!

*originally read that like four times as “grease your chin” and was just like wtf then I saw what sub it was from and it made sense.

    Fucking dyslexia
