Hi everyone,
I’m considering buying a custom-built vintage road bike and wanted to get your opinion on what it’s actually worth.
It’s based on a Cannondale CAAD4 (1999) frame, but with a lot of upgraded components:
Handlebar: 400mm
Shifters: Shimano 105
Rear derailleur: Shimano Ultegra with oversized CeramicSpeed pulleys
Brakes: SRAM Force
Chainring: 53T Alugear Elita
Bottom bracket: Titanium BB
Stem: Zipp 130mm
Wheels: SUPERTEAM carbon aero wheels
Tires: Continental GP5000 (around 300 km ridden)
Saddle: Fizik Antares
Seatpost: carbon (Polygon)
Bottle cages: titanium Supacaz
Cassette: 11–32
Fork: carbon
The bike is fully built and recently serviced:
fresh sealant
new cables and housing
tires almost new
The asking price is 600€.
Do you think this is a good deal and fair price or overpriced for such a build?
I know it’s an old frame, but the components are quite modern, so I’m not sure how to value it properly.
Would appreciate any opinions 🙏

Good and Lightweigt aluminum alloy frame, it is Nirvana in this leage.
Pretty
I‘d probably pay 600 for that, but I have no clue if it would be worth that for others
If you want a restomod, it’s a good price. I mean if you strip the build and sell the components individually, you’d get more than 600€ out of it
Cool bike
Love the caad line — have one myself.
Also what bartape is that? Looks very cool.
Not sure I’d want my one chainring to be a 53 but if you have the legs and lungs and terrain to suit, by all means.
I’ve owned multiple Cannondales since the early 90s and still have their tandem so I’m a fan. That is a sweet and unique ride, just whether the gearing works for you.
edit. Is that a 54? Zoom the chainring pic.
This is a spicy meatball!
