How old is it? Looks like aging and weathering of surface layer with “clean” spots are just places where that layer rubbed off.

That looks like marks and aging from heavy use, a helmet won’t go like this by itself. How long have you had the helmet? If it’s older than 3 or 4 years it’s recommended to replace it
