Became the happy owner of a Brompton C Explore yesterday, discovered the BrilliantBikes series of videos and everything was just fine until I hit this one:
I simply do not understand how that Insert works.
At about the 6m 41sec mark in the video, she inserts the Brompton Insert into the seat tube and, at the 7m 29sec mark, she inserts the seat post back into the seat tube, working from the bottom of the seat tube and not from the top.
Today, I marked the proper height of my seat tube by placing a small piece of tape on the seat post. When I pushed the seat tube down when folding the bike, that piece of tape was peeled straight off.
So how do fit a seat tube up, through that insert, when there just does not seem to be sufficient room.
And **more to the point** I simply do not understand how that Insert functions in getting you back to the correct seat height each time you fold/unfold your bike.
Many thanks for any clarity on this issue.

Went back and watched the video yet again and think maybe I understand it now.
**But**, will the fact that I have a telescoping seat post make any difference?
With your Brompton comes an instruction manual. There it is pictured and explained in detail.
