Dave is a lucky boy, he gets a new Honda Fireblade to take home. But why has he got it and how is it going to help make you a safer rider?

  1. Hi Dave, great video. If Honda are trying to reduce road deaths. Why don't they include one of your courses with any bike purchased over 600cc.
They did this when I bought a new Honda VFR800 in 1997, it was called a Honda Mac course and was for 2 days with ex police riders, it was really good and I learnt a lot. It would also be an incentive to buy a new Honda.

  2. Did 2 years as an instructor with Star Rider in Scunny -different end of the spectrum but shining a light on the gaps is a noble thing at any level. Good on ya!
Just did a ~500km ride to Taupo and back on the SPY – piece of cake – who are these people who want a sports bike to be like a sofa?

  3. its an amazing bike, as I only have space for 1 bike and like sports bikes, without cruise control its a deal breaker for me. I will stick with my Speed Triple 1200RR and hope they add cruise at the next update.

  4. Every accident , well almost, I've had on a motorcycle (been riding since 1986) has involved a driver pulling out in front of me without looking. Now not only do they don't look but are usually on their ffing phone.

  5. Not sure about where you all live, but in Northern Ireland there are speed cameras hiding everywhere and cops in places they don't cover.

    Blade looks great.

  6. running in 🤔 5000 rpm max. , speed well …windmass could be alot
    – i wait if you ride this helmet-brand faster
…sure after r1 2024 this cbr 1000 rr r without sp look many times better as duc. or bmw 👍 lucky miles 🍀

  7. So, the nice people at Honda think we are nice people. You could perhaps say, "you meet the nicest people on a Honda"… I'll let them have that one for free.😁
    Tuono?😢
In fact, curious to know if you ran the Tuono on Dunlops?

  8. Friend put Honda's alcantara comfort seat on his Hornet 1000 and it was even worse than the awful standard seat. 'Viking Seats' turned it into a comfortable place to be.

  9. I don't use Instagram or Facebook but I will continue to follow your YouTube videos. Why are so many of you trying to get people like me to use "anti-social media"?

  10. I love Honda. Unfortunately, every single liter bike I rode was extremely uncomfortable. Picked up a like new ZX14R for 9k. I can ride for hours in comfort. It ran a 9.8 in the quarter stock and 9.23 with a few bolt ons. The video is on YouTube. So far, I've drag raced all the new liter bike's except the Ducati and beat them all by a good margin with similar bolt ons. It's hard to beat 1441cc's! I guess that's why the 14R owns XDA super stock class…😉 3:08

  11. I`ll stay to my torque engine.. Ducati MS 1000 DS. Analog 😂
She goes 5 or 6 gear tru corners, not second gear and she do it with a lot of soul 😂

  12. Welcome to the wonderful world of Arai Dave! All I need to do to now is rob a bank: so I can join you in the wonderful world of 2026 Fireblade ownership too! 😉

  13. A great new initiative. Honda have a long history of promoting rider training. I did the Honda MAC on my then new SP1 in 2000 and still use what I learnt. I must get the SP1 back on the road and do a Rapid Training course 😎

  14. Have said it for years, that it's the failure to get adequate training that is the real problem on our roads, and sadly, a sizable part of that starts with the government, then the individual, and now clearly Honda have recognised, that the final part in the link is the manufacturer. Whether a car, a bike, a scooter, or any other road going vehicle, it's the training that can help keep our roads safe. That's awesome to hear that Honda are lifting their game from this perspective!

  15. Being a sceptical person, I’d say it’s a great advert for Rapid Training. However, once a young rider has paid for their theory test, CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2, and then covered the cost of a bike, insurance, road tax, protective clothing and security, do you really think they’ll be willing to spend even more money on an additional course?
As I am guessing the younger rider is what Honda will be aiming their efforts at.

  16. Congrats on the deal. Unfortunately, I reckon the way things are going with all the 'Net-zero' cr@p, if the eco loons get their way our Government will beat Honda to 'zero' deaths on 'all' motorbikes well before 2050. If they can get away with it, they'll have us all on electric skateboards and the bus long before then…

  17. Love my SC77 but I honestly can't justify the price increase of the Sc82 for road use. If Kawasaki can do a "road" ZX10R vs the "track" ZX10RR then why can't Honda? $25,000 UKP for a Japanese roadbike is crazy.

  18. Love the bike Dave. I think the Honda colour scheme is ace. I’m all for training and good news that Honda are using Rapid – they show good taste. Their aim of zero deaths on Honda products by 2050? Delusional absolutely impossible it’s as inane as net zero. But if it gives people a bit of help, crack on!

  19. You are a lucky boy indeed.
Talking all things Honda. At the weekend I checked and adjusted the valve clearances on my Firestorm. Now, this bike is 29 years old with 75,000 miles and this was it's first adjustment required! The cams and buckets had absolutely zero wear. I measured the cam lobes and they are exactly what they they are meant to be. Honda quality, can't beat it.

  20. That's a great commitment from Honda for bike riders – shame they can't focus on training cage drivers as well ! And yes, you are indeed a very lucky boy

  21. It's good that Honda have committed to reducing motorcycle deaths, however making a 200bhp bike is just daft for road use. It's great Honda are collaborating with you, that's a great opportunity.
