Had my bmx for almost a month now. I only ride on weekends. I'm getting kinda bored on my progress (self learning) as I still haven't landed a 180 yet and can't overcome my fears when doing so. I'm 25, is it too late for me to start riding?

It’s never too late! It will take time to land and master tricks, as with any action sport
Just keep cruising for fun and do simpler tricks. A month and riding only on weeknds means that you can the times you rode your bmx with your fingers, c’mon dude, you started the hobby like 5minutes ago, be more gentle to yourself.
Just keep riding, this isn’t a easy sport but it will take you to places. being 25 means you have probably good 25-30 years left of good rinig time 🙂 Nothing is too late in your 20’s.
I’m 35 and just starting with a torn ACL so I understand the fear. Progress never comes quickly. Keep at it and it’ll get better bit by bit. Maybe find someone to go riding with to give you the motivation you need.
im 3yrs in and still
cant hop 😂 you still have time
cruise parks, have fun, go for rides. u get creative as you go and stuff starts to really work. trust the process 🖤
I don’t care
Nah dude im 31 im only able to ride every few months/weeks. Try not focus on the same trick. I also cant 180.
Hey guys, I haven’t been doing this very long and haven’t been putting anytime into it, does anyone know why I’m not having fun yet?
I’m 34 I’ve been riding since I was 12. I’ve seen my hand full of riders quit because they don’t have Healthcare and or think riding will lead to them getting hurt which could lead to financial problems. All I can say is. I understand the fear but believe in yourself and know that you know your limits. I hope you keep riding.

28 years old here. Everyone progress is different, more if you don’t have enough time to do it. is not too late and there is no rush at all (unless you have a rush) maybe try to do things differently, record yourself so you can fix any mistakes you might be doing or just for the fun of seeing your progress. You can do whatever you like as long as years later you are not regretting not doing it when you were younger.
I am 25 now and riding 3 years this summer.
What helped me most at the start was being creative. 180s and fakies are hard to learn at first.
Get pegs. Do some chinks, maybe grind. Jump something or set yourself a challenge. Its about fun.
I picked up riding again at 29, I already had experience but 360s were basically my best trick lol and in just a few years I started airing out, going much faster, learned bars (almost got 180 bars recently), almost got tailwhips, even janky stuff like x-up one foot.. if I did it around 30, then it’s definitely not too late for you
I’m 37 and just had my best winter of riding at the local indoor park! Started training a bit more and it greatly helped the riding!
Keep riding! I just started 6 months ago so I feel the frustration. Also working on my 180s and fakie. Spend some time at the skatepark on the pump track or riding transition. Helps build confidence.
Just gotta hang in there man, nothing in this sport comes super quick or overnight. You already have a decent setup, start with simple stuff, learn manuals, foot jams, crank flips, just little stuff that will still keep you interested and eventually you can do cooler stuff with. As far as landing 180’s. A lot of the movement is in your head, look where you wanna go and that may help with your rotation, but. No sense in giving up just yet. Give it up when your body can’t physically take it anymore, not your mental.
Mann I just started last year at 35 lol
No quitting. Just take longer breaks
The best time to start was 15 years ago; the second best time to start is today.
In another 15 years you’re gonna be 40: would you rather be 40 and not riding BMX, or 40 and cruising around? (I’m 42 and just bought my first BMX)
You can ride around town during week days too, if you rode for 15 hours a week, by the end of the summer you’ll be a machine. Come on man
You dont need to know tricks to enjoy a bike man. I’ve ridden almost exclusively BMX bikes my entire life and I dont know any tricks lol
sell me that bike lol
