Hey i guy's. I'm curious: how long is your daily commute on Brompton? Mine is around 10-13 kilometres at the moment (it's 81.75 baseball fields for my fellow Americans), and i kinda think this isn't long enough for me. So naturally i started to wonder how much other Brompton owner's ride.

I don’t have a commute at the moment my Brompton is for grocery store runs, leisure rides and city commutes whenever I get the train somewhere usually I’m averaging about 7km a journey, great pic by the way OP.
5km, but back ride is uphill so I feel it 😀
1.3km+train+9km one way
I don’t commute, as I work at home.
I often do 15-35km for fun around Madrid, though. And I use my C-Line to run errands. Just got a G-Line, and I did the Anillo Verde (~70km) the other day, just for fun. Doing it again tomorrow, me on the C and my partner on the G, as a rundown for a “semi-bikepacking” trip we’re taking next week along *some* Spanish coast (haven’t decided which one yet).
I’d say my average Brompton ride is close to 25km. If I’m doing real distance, I tend to use my Canyon Grizl instead, as it is more comfortable. I tend to take the C-line if I think I might want to take the Metro home!
This is a good photo. So many meh photos out there. This one has some great feels, great atmosphere. Enjoy the ride!
12-15km one way, but long or short journey is very subjective. mine mainly on morning traffic rush and there’s only sparse bike lane on jakarta roads, so yeah it can be tiresome because i have to stop and go…
I work freelance and move around the city a lot, so sometimes less than 1km, sometimes about 5km. And I’ll often visit multiple addresses within a day, darting around the city. Couldn’t do it without my Bromp, genuinely. When my bike was stolen a few years ago and I had to rely on Lime bikes for a while, I lost quite a bit of work due to not being able to travel so quickly. There are routes I can’t take, and I can’t weave in and out of pedestrians quickly and safely.
If I had to account for time to find a place to lock up a full sized bike multiple times a day, let alone park a car or motorbike, I’d probably end up losing 20% of my work.
I’m another that doesn’t have a commute, I now ride for fun, so today was 20km, yesterday was 20km, and day before that was 50km, tomorrow might be another 20km, with Thursday a 50km, although that’s one way so depending on how I feel it might be 100 or I might take the train home and that’s the bonus of a brompton 🚴♂️
Remember it’s not the distance though it’s the enjoyment, the scenery, the sun, the road, the tow path, the people you meet, and you aren’t looked at as being competitive, so endurance, racing, touring, gravel, mountain and urban bike riders all acknowledge you with a smile, well where I am in the countryside they do. 👋
1.5 km + train + 2 km one way
Mine’s 5km but I’m in a country with tropical climate so it feels a lot longer in the morning heat.
