I'm on my second year of growth of the prickleless blackberries. I can't wait to eat some. And when I have old canes, I'm gonna use them to propagate more!!
🥹 thank you for making this. Years ago, I lived in an area with blackberry bushes just growing nuts and while picking blackberries, one of our dogs decided to come over and try to help. He picked some berries that were not ripe yet but at least he seemed interested in helping. Sadly, that dog passed away a long time ago so it’s a bittersweet memory.
I only have wild blackberries surrounding my yard. They are the super thorny ones but they cost me nothing and I only trim the tendrils that try to creep across my yard. They're actually a living fence without any support. I have picked 12 gallons a year for 20 years. (No fertilizer, no watering, no supports).
Best Blackberries ever are the ones that grow near the nesting areas at Grandview in Virginia. It's another beautiful day here On The Shores Of The Chesapeake Bay in Hampton Roads. Whatcha out for the rabbits chiggers. And those who consume those critters feasting on berries.
This made me smile – where I live, blackberries grow wild everywhere and it's a constant battle to stop them invading the garden. On the plus side, we get huge crops of more fruit than we could possibly ever use.
Mistake number 4..planting directly in the ground. Put them in a raised bed containter because these will go invasive quickly. But have a relativly shallow root system .the confines of a raised bed works well.
By looking at it, how would I know when to remove a cane? There will be a mix of young and old canes growing up. Does it always have to be after second year and is it after summer or fall?
Me watching this after I spent 3 months cutting back a blackberry invasion and wondering why anyone in their right mind would ever intentionally grow blackberries.

Yep. Mine 3yo has never produced
First timer here. Bought triple berry plants. I should mix soil, manure, peat moss at evenly to help with the plant. Am I missing anything else?
This seems ai idk why lol
The birds know exactly when to pick them. Its a fight in my yard 😅

How do I keep out very small ants that live in the crevices?? Do I bring the berries in the house and let them roam?
What's the cane?
Who TF grows blackberries on purpose!? Damn things are f%&kin everywhere and grow like they're on steroids!
Wow ❤
I’m berry happy 😃
George has see some really big black berries
Granola 😮 what a waste of good blackberries 😂😂
What causes the berries to turn brown and dry up. They initially look great then just don't produce
Blackberries suck compared to black raspberries.

Mulberry tree WAY nicer taste….. just have to wait a bit longer!!!! Although you can get small upright trees or small weeping trees or bushes too.
I have a thornless blackberry and it grows a lot. Can I use it as a fence cover or do I need to prune everything every 2 years???
Yeah. Let them grow wild in Florida and you can't control them. Try to grow them on purpose in Wyoming and they won't bear a single fruit
Thank you😊

My biggest mistake was making 26 gallons of blackberry wine….
If the birds don’t get them first 😂😂
Not all require trellising

Who’s watching this eating blackberries rn?
A like for the "berry happy"
How do you count your years? Mine will be planted for one year in March.
On my farm, they are an invasive weed.

A thorny wild blackberry vine came with the house. I thought it was the only one until I found more growing wild in the back lot.

Well I'm getting trailing blackberries and growing them down a wall…. So no trellis for me 😅.
You know what they say, the blacker the berry the sweeter the juice! Cheers
