First gap jump! Probably would’ve just ridden around but my buddy was really hyped on the rest of us sessioning as this one was both small and forgiving.

First go came up short. Second lost my footing mid-air. Third felt ok, I think the 4th is the best go.

Watching the back to back, I don’t think my form is very good either on the takeoff or the landing. On the takeoff, I think I could do a much better job standing up to the jump. On the landing, I think I could do a much better job holding my core strong on impact. I also think I’m too far back, generally. What do you think?

Anyway, great day out. When you were learning to jump, what was helpful for you?

Baby gap progression.

You’re getting there, sounds like you know what to do. Watching/knowing is different than doing, just need to get some reps in. Filming yourself and watching is great for that. It always feels different in your own POV. Highly recommend Slanted Ground and The Shred Academy, they have some great tips.

Yeah, you’re not so much jumping as you are just riding off the lip. That’s why you’re getting into those weird positions and losing your pedals.

Good on ya for trying the jump though. If you want to progress and get to bigger jumps I’d say go back to the tables and focus on getting the technique dialed to where you do it involuntarily. That way you don’t have to worry about getting scared and messing up your form.
