Hi everyone,

Yesterday I went to a Canyon Factory Service Center to determine my frame size for a Grizl CF9. My inner leg length is 81,2cm, and I have a total height of 169,5cm. When they put these numbers in the calculator, it showed XS would be a good size for me, with a saddle height of 71cm.

So they let me drive on a size XS Grizl CF frame, and after riding for a few minutes, I felt compressed on the bike, like I wanted to push the handlebar away from me. So then they offered a size S, and that felt a lot better to me. Both bikes had the saddle height adjusted to 71cm.

Am I making the right choice by taking an S over an XS, even when the calculator clearly says otherwise?

Some quick disclaimers: I rode old racing bikes for my entire life, which had long reaches in general. I also had just a couple of minutes on the two Grizl sizes, so my judgement might not be 100%.

Anyway, thanks for the help in advance!

It appears you are looking for bike fitting help. Please make sure you post as screenshot of the Canyon size chart for your bike, with your point in it. See [this example](https://imgur.com/a/ALUfXyy)

  2. get XS and be prepared to upsize on the stem to 90-110mm. i have the same height with 2cm shorter inseam and I am bikefitted after my purchase to XS with 100mm stem on Grail. or get yourself a pro bikefitting session service

  3. In the end that calculator is only a help to get your size without testing the bike. You have the chance to test drive it, so get the bike that feels best for you.
But since the calculations are only for saddle height and so, remembe rthat you can also adjust the stem lenght, so maybe XS with a long stem would be best for you.

It takes some time to find whats really perfect for you, best owuld be to use a bike fitting service where they take all your lenghts and size and so on, and then adjust the bike perfectly in every aspect.

Hm, you are so clearly in the XS range…maybe you were riding all your life the “wrong” size and got used to it and that’s why it felt strange to you?! Was the XS feeling so bad to you?
