Follow me converting my Brompton from a standard Brompton to a 11 speed DI2 Brompton with disc brakes and chunky tires. I promise it’s some transformation.

Fascinating stuff! I might even try my hand at this some day : ) Not the wheel building bit though, and not with my new Brompton, maybe a second-hand bike would make a good donor…
You may know that Dutch Firm: "Bromptonian" actually makes an off-road version of a Brompton-like bike? And those wheels, do they still fit an ordinary Brompton frame? You are able to buy a Brompton-like fork and – back frame with fittings for a disc brake, from titanium. I would like to have a disc brake, at least in front!
Also though my now more than "Superlight" (9 kilo, with mudguards (I'm a Dane!)) actually brakes fine for most purposes in Denmark, also down a steep, high speed serpentine road with frequent "cattle bars" crossing, for a full stop each time! I honestly had my doubt in the beginning, but my Brompton never let me down! Finn. Denmark
And I did built a wheel for a friend from scratch and it became totally fine running, both flat and with no swing in the fork I built it from (A wooden pin across, and two pointing in from the sides. And then, when banging on the spokes with a metal key: They all gave the same note, to prove they all had the same tension)! I did look at a wheel at first, for the crossing of the spokes. Finn. Denmark
Dude, you're MacGuyver 👍
Hi, Just subscribed, intrigued, 20" wheels on a Brompton.
I did not think they will fit.
Thanks for sharing
Thats a coincidence. I am in the process of doing a similar myself. Building the rear with an 8 speed alfine, 406 rims and disc brakes. Using a mini velo front fork and re-modelling the rear triangle. Also going to turn new phosphor bronze bushes instead of the plastic coated rubbish Brompton use. I am undecided on either Black Jacks or CX comp's.
This whole Brompton thing is overhyped. It's just a bicycle. Amd if they keep charging people obscene prices for normal things Brompton might well end up like Moultoun bikes: in the corner nobody wants it!
