I’d grab it. Even though Cannondale had a tendency to use weirdly non-standard specs from time to time.

Aluminum does not spark joy. Even if it is a cool frame. I’d leave it or drop it off at the bike co-op.
Those old aluminum frames can develop a lot of flex (fatigue) in the bottom bracket over time depending on who rode it (their weight) and how hard etc. Usually you can feel it if you set it up. It would feel spongy and if it’s really bad the chain will rub the derailleur when you dig in.
Also check for cracks.
If anyone thinks “no” about any discarded frame/bike in this subreddit, that person either doesn’t truly belong in xbiking, OR they have a strict wife.
No, I don’t like free, cool, classic bikes with a gorgeous paint job.
Last year I found two bikes in the trash, they only needed a couple tubes and a cleaning. I have a friend who helps the homeless, she found two people in need of a bike.
Yes, my son is riding a bike we found, and now that it’s fixed up and it looks amazing. He loves it.
Here they don’t throw away Cannondales, though!
