  1. Way too much. If the bolts don’t go any further you need a tad shorter bolts.
    If you’re adventurous you could cut them a tad with a saw and gently file, otherwise buy shorter ones.

    That’s definitely not ok. I’d add a washer and go with a shorter bolt. Assuming the current one is excessively long. It could be the frame/fork threads need to be tapped as well.

    You don’t need to go ham on those bolts. Too much torque will mushroom the end of the stud. Some brakes just have a lot of play. If the bolt is contacting the end of the stud, then that’s normal for those brakes. Otherwise, the bolt is too long for your stud.
