Made an impulsive buy at my LBS on this consignment – but I'm not sold on it yet. It's standard spec for the Comp, but with upgraded carbon wheels (DCB) with DT Swiss 350 hubs.

This is my first full suspension, my first time (in a long time) riding a 29er vs. 27.5, and my first time with anything carbon.

I love the plushness of it, but it's not all I thought it would be if I'm honest. I guess I had in my head this would be my preference for a lot of riding, but I still prefer my rigid Jones SWB… Maybe I just need to give it more time?

Depends on the terrain – each of those bikes serve very different purposes

Completely different bikes for different types of riding, terrain, etc. The trails I ride would be miserable on something not full suspension. I also like the planted feeling. Not necessarily a “plush” feeling.

  3. No one is going to be upset with you for the bike you prefer to ride. If you prefer your rigid bike, why would you buy and ride something you don’t like as much? You’re doing this for you man, no one else, so do what makes you happy and don’t fit into someone else’s mold.

Great bike…a bit of free advice (as an owner of a 2020 Carbon Comp)…check your forward/upper chock bolt and if it is steel get it replaced with Alu or Ti asap.

Mine has rusted in place, we have made many attempts to remove it.

Next fall I will have to drill it out and there is no guarantee that my frame will survive.

Specialized knows about this issue, which is why they abandoned this frame style.
