Hi!
Installed a P ZERO Race SL-R 28 on the front wheel (Roval Rapide CL III), and it seems to me that I probably should have gone with the 30 mm size. Previously I had a GP5000 S TR 28, and its actual width was around 30 mm.
What are your thoughts on the sizing? I enjoy high-speed descents and decided to experiment with tires for the sake of aerodynamics.

In my experience Pirellis usually are sized a bit smaller, but I still have 19mm internal width rims so it depends how wide your rims are. Most new tires are optimized for 21mm or over. I currently have P Zero Race RS TLR 28mm in the front and 30mm in the rear, the front one is roughly 27mm and the rear one is 29mm.
The SL-Rs in theory are skinny on the sides to aid aerodynamics, but still it’s not going to hold you back from running a 28mm instead of a 30mm. I’ve been more than pleased with the RS tires, even though now they’re a “previous gen” they still roll insanely fast and the grip when new is unbelievable.
Yes, 30mm would be more aero.
My thoughts are that 99.99 % of riders will be unable to tell a 2mm difference in tire width.
Conti’s are always a bit bigger than labeled on modern wider rims.
