Being a rather obese person, i was rather scared to ride this bike on Malaysian roads (uneven tarmac, many sands and debris, potholes!).
But throughout my 300km+ journey from the past 2 days since I got this bike, it has been thoroughly awesome!
Very easy to get to my cruising speed (around 35km/h),
Coasting doesnt lose me much speed.
It absorbs the vibrations well (which i was scared at first, me being heavy and uneven roads. I was scared the frame would crack).
All in all, really loving this bike (apart from the tyres, i feel them having less grip)
Planning to get a new Ultegra Di2 groupset and a used Zipp 404 Firecrest and the seller is also gifting me a pair of Michelin Power Cup 28c. All for $2000. Is that a good price?
Edit : oh. And ultegra pedals is also on its way.

Get yourself a garmin varia also.
Yep. You’ll totally appreciate it. I’m t pairs with the headhunt to show incoming traffic. Then get mybiketraffic.com plugin for details on that traffic.
Madones are awesome. I agree. Very comfortable. $2K for the upgrades you mentioned sounds like a good deal. I think you’ll really enjoy electronic shifting. My last five bikes have had electronic group sets. I’d have a hard time going back. Zipp wheels are awesome. You might not notice much of a change. Your Gen 8 specifications allow 32 mm wide tires. I didn’t look closely enough to see if you are using them. If not, you will notice a comfort improvement by going to 32s. One other upgrade I enjoy on my Madone is Swisstop brake pads.
Hoping to get back on my bike after a long layoff in the coming weeks. Weight gain + newborn has zapped me and the bike feels so uncomfortable on shorts rides around the block right now.
