Hi, new rider. I'm used to dirt bike helmets and they usually have a lower chin guard than this. They would sit a little closer to the shoulder than this is. If I put on a dirt bike helmet and it did this it would be a tell tale sign it's too small. It feels weird that my chin is sticking out this much so is this normal in MTBing helmets? I can either keep this helmet or waste $18 sending it back. They are also out of XL in this color so I would have to search online for another helmet that I can afford that's not an Amazon brand.
I'm bang on in the middle for their measurement for large and I measured 20 times before I ordered to it make sure. From other pictures it seems everyone has their lower chin stick out on this helmet, might just be the style but I wanted to make sure before I send it back. Thanks.

I have the same helmet in XL and it fits me perfectly. I have a huge head, and it fits nice and snug when I put it on, not too tight, it’s actually super comfortable. It fits around my neck and chin about the same as you, but I also have a shorter/wider neck.
