My friend said he would sell it to me for $500. I don’t know if it is any good. Are all the things stuff that I can use for a long time or will I need to upgrade them after not long? He said the frame was fine for a beginner but I would graduate from it after my first year or so riding it. Anything helps.

Is there much friction or noise from the chain carriers/ does it affect the chain line?
No steel is a terrible choice for a full suspension mtb. Gonna weigh 40lbs and be no fun to climb on. Get something lighter with less travel
