edit: obviously it hooks on the rack however what do i do with the black elastic with the hook on the end?

  2. My dad has these exact bags. Must have had them since the 80s.

Think you need a rack with a lower horizontal bar to hook onto.

I’d try just adding a zip tie and see if it can hook onto that. Doesn’t need to be that strong, just stops the bags flapping about.

  3. Yeah, you need some place to attach that lower hook – your rack lacks that, but many others have a bar or flared piece in which to place that. The hook keeps the bag from flapping and possibly popping off – needs to be pulled taught.

I used canvas bags with a similar elastic/fastener hook, but my rack had a flared piece at the bottom to hook it. Is there some way you can attach a split ring or loop a zip tie (as another poster mentions) so that hook has some place to go?
