LBS is selling a 2022 Giant Trance X 1 for $2.2K. Cannondale is having their factory sale and the Habit Carbon 2 for $3K at LBS. Would like to stay under $3K.

Would primarily be single tracks around town and some longer day trips.

Looking for first full suspension. Was borrowing my friend’s full suspension. Was a ton of fun, but 160/150 travel was kind of a slog on climbs. Currently have a fixed frame fat tire and a rockhopper. Would like to be faster and more nimble than the fatty, but all have more comfort going over roots, rocks, and smaller drops than what the rock hopper currently provides.

I have a Carbon 2 and I really like it. But beware, it will likely not come specced as advertised.

SRAM DB8s instead of Shimano brakes and heavier Stan wheels (2.2kg for the set).

This does not seem to be an issue with lack of parts availability either, just the new standard specs (probably to match the discounted prices).

I honestly think it’s quite misleading, bordering on false advertising. Especially the wheels swap.

  3. The Habit seems like a great value for $800 more. The giant is new but it’s a 2022?
