Hi there! I’m looking for some advice on how best to secure my bike to a hook in the ground in front of my flat. This is what I’ve managed so far – what do you think?

This will be the primary location for my bike during summer months. I live in London and have had multiple bikes stolen before so hoping this will be relatively safe? Will also have a cover over it to make it less visible.

Depends mostly on how well the hook is anchored in the ground and how much time someone has to cut it or the chain lock – a similar looking Kryptonite lock held up for about a minute against a battery powered angle grinder: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqK3Dm6DMII](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqK3Dm6DMII)

As it stands the chain only secures the frame to the ground, and the u-lock secures the rear wheel, leaving the front wheel to a thin strand of metal. You should instead loop the chain around the rear wheel and frame, then secure the front wheel to the frame with the u-lock.
