Great transmission. Very under-rated. The 7speed will become valuable for collector car enthusiasts as it's a pretty rare transmission not just for Porsche but in the car industry as a whole. The 6speed / 5 speed are much more common.
How about the back gear do you have to push the gear down or you lift it up to change the gear?

I don't like the 7-speed gearbox in my Classic, but it is well spaced. I prefer the 6-speed on my Speedster.
I live in the south of France, and we have the roads for it. I understand why Americans prefer automatics with their endless straightaways and the lack of experience. In terms of performance, the automatic is much better.
That 5th and 7th gear could be tricky to shift 😂.
