These 2 have been rivals pretty much the entire time they've been racing, both on the road and in cyclocross, but friendly rivals who respect each other. They each make the other better. Congrats to Wout, and great sportsmanship shown by MVDP!

I like wout he comes across as s nice guy for a long time. A good family man and a great biker that rose from so many bad accidents in last few years. Mvdp had bad luck but has this race in his Palmares already. Congratulations to Pog for such a great contest and second is nothing to feel defeated over.

I find it incredible how these two riders manage time and again to leave their own unique mark on the sport of cycling. One wins the race against an overwhelmingly strong world champion after having to overcome countless setbacks in recent years; the other finishes fourth, 15 seconds behind, following an incredible comeback over more than 90 km after falling more than two minutes behind due to a mechanical issue.
