


Long shot but figured worth asking. I found a brand new Yakima StepUp 2 bike rack at REI ReSupply for a 200 bucks. It’s brand new and was preassembled with tags and all hardware. I jumped on it.
I did find however that my hitch receiver is reinforced and wider than most. So the included hitch bolt is too short (see pic). Has anyone encountered this before also and found a solution? The bolt is threaded and so is the Yakima base that is screws through so I can’t just buy an off the shelf amazon special one that is longer without drilling out the threaded portion. I was hoping to avoid that.

Run a piece of all thread cut to size with fender washers and double jam nuts on both sides.
