Knock knock motherfucker is the United States of America I hate you guys got oil it is my possession so turn off the stove before I will have to democracy
The reason new engines have such high water-like viscosity oil nowadays is because of post-2007 emissions/fuel economy standards. And they’ve only gotten worse. Automotive manufacturers figured out they can buy themselves a tiny bit more fuel economy (saving themselves millions in fines) at the expense of the engine’s lifespan. Couple that with V-8’s with multi-displacement systems that literally can’t run on lower viscosity oil because the multi-displacement system ends up collapsing lifters on the better(lower viscosity) oil, and… well… you get it.
10w-30 or 5w-30 is where it should have ended. But because of the EPA setting unattainable fuel-economy standards on-top of fuel-economy-killing emissions standards, and you end up with the automotive industry pumping out products that the consumer pays dramatically more money to buy, and drastically more money to keep on the road because of the over-engineered garbage and the shortcuts taken that reduce engine life.
We need to completely cut out the fuel economy standards. And ease up on the emissions standards a little.
This combined with vehicle construction and neglect of maintenance are the primary reason cars nowadays are so fucking unreliable. Being packed with heaps of tech and sensors capable of bricking the car also don't help. Most of my vehicles are 20+ years old with a few hundred thousand kilometers on the clock and haven't had any major issues. Want to know why? Because I maintained my fkn vehicles. The only things I've had to do are brakes, 1-2 clutches per vehicle most were from previous owners screwing something up or letting someone else drive my car. Other than the minimal mentioned and lights that have given up it's just stuff like physical damage. I do a lot of 4 wheel drive treks so I've damage a few things on rocks.
Ok ok heres a wild thought what if they're rebranding cooking oil as motor oil because its cheaper than refining peteoleum and passes the same certifications.
Bro please please help me . Unfortunately my car mechanic is refilled old bike engine oil in car . Is it ok to use for few days like 1 to 4 days . Because of oil leakage fixed so testing he filled bike engine oil . He don't have old car engine oil so bike engine oil filled. Like 2.5 literers new and 2 liters old . Engine oil
