We’ve headed up to Sunderland — a city packed with history, character, and (apparently) a seriously underrated food scene 👀

Our first stop? Sheepfolds, a buzzing food hub full of independent spots… and home to something very special:

👉 Proper pies, created with influence from Si King (from the legendary The Hairy Bikers)

These aren’t your average pies… everything is:
• Freshly made on-site
• Packed with locally sourced ingredients
• Served with mash and gravy for the full experience

We tried:
• Classic mince & dumplings 🥧
• Butter chicken pie 🍛
• Venison & blue cheese 🦌

This is the kind of food that just fits a cold, windy northern day. No gimmicks. No fuss. Just honest, seriously good cooking.

If you know anywhere else in the North East doing incredible pies, drop it in the comments 👇
