I’ve done the same. As long as you can get it out of the way, usually no one minds

Might wanna try and put it somewhere away from the fire extinguishers/safety equipment. That’s the only quibble I can see.

You might want to ask if getting bike racks installed has ever been considered?

Same shit at my workplace, they complained we got our bikes behind our desks but had no parking AND actively incentivize bike commuters with paid bonuses. Two years of renovation and we finally get covered parking, just completely open and absolutely zero security. Suits are the worse.

-use a “small cheap so if it disappears-whatever, bike floor stand,” so no1 can say it may mark the wall.
-don’t block the fire extinguisher (it needs 36″ of clearance, and to be able to be access from 180 degrees).
-don’t block general pathways (ADA 48″).
then the bike becomes very hard to argue against.

Just do the needful until they provide acceptable alternatives. Good luck!

In case of fire, bike to the nearest exit.

My previous office had an under-utilized coat closet that I commandeered for my 1972 Gitane Tour de France (converted to fixie.)
And no, this comment had nothing to do with bragging about my Gitane…. why do you ask?
