What happens when you take a folding e-bike to England’s oldest capital?
In this video, I head out from London with one goal: explore somewhere new using nothing but a single battery charge… and see where the journey takes me.
This time, I’m riding through Winchester – once the capital of England – a city packed with history, hidden corners, and stories you don’t learn in school.
From centuries-old landmarks to peaceful riverside paths, this trip turned into something far more interesting than I expected…
And the folding e-bike? It completely changed the way I experienced the day.
No stress. No rush. Just riding, exploring, and uncovering what makes this place so special.

Smashing , a joy to watch 😊
Eilis; patron saint of e-transport? No? Maybe just an angel, then! 😍
Insightful and good timing with the cherry blossoms. What the heck are those prices ? Better sandwiches from home.
Loving your work! Please more day trip ideas.
You should have a travel / history channel, Eilis. This was so good!
Always fancied a folding bike, but I seem to be too tall for the best designs.
Why not Birmingham, Hull, Luton, Middlesbrough, or Coventry? They are lovely this time of year, I’ve heard.
I have ordered one in grey. It is for my wife, allegedly! 🙂
I have been there ! really nice town, but i got a parking ticket which kinda ruined my visit. Looks like a nice bike update although maybe a bit too heavy to fit into MH garage.
It folds exactly like my Dahon analogue bike. I have taken a bike on S.Western, just plan it outside commuter times, especially a Friday.
N how much u paid for that train?🤣😂🤣😂😂
Good stuff and a quick bike review thrown in.
What can I say, words fail me, but I’ll try – superb, excellent, interesting, informative, looking forward to the next one. Perhaps Canterbury or Whitstable, both have great cycleways, The Viking Coastal Trail, The Crab and Winkle Trail, even Margate would be worth a visit !! Great to see you getting out and about a bit more !!
01:39 I recently tried taking my bike on a train for the first time, and I agree 100% – I don't know what it is, but there definitely is something satisfying about it
Meh, pass
No electric bike should be allowed on public transport.
This is wonderful, thanks.
One of the best videos from this channel. Great job and seeing folders on trains is motivating.
🤙🏼⚡🤘🏼⚡👌🏼
I used to take my bicycle by train to a nearby city that has a Botanic Garden, get my outdoor and nature time in, then go pick up a snack at a nearby small grocery store, then ride back to the station go to another city for lunch ride to.one of my favorite restaurants it is only a mile-km or so from the station, and take the train home or if I was up to it, take the 10 mile-16km ride home on the local walking-bicycle trail.
What if someone steals your bike from the train? I’d want it to be in my line of view throughout the journey.
Proper
Thanks for a ripper video❤
❤❤
Winchester is beautiful, very close for me, certainly worth visiting !
Really enjoyed this video, more days away please. This style of video will promote cycle use more than the usual bike reviews ever can.
Question if I may, we see that you can bring the bike on trains etc but when your visiting shops, museums and bars/restaurants can you bring them inside or leave them outside and what recommended security do you use ???
