Am I a bike freak if I enjoy watching that debris from jokey wheels before sleep? 😅
Thank you for the video!
What grease/lube is for what part? The setup looks great
(cry for help) So I have this Crescent mountain bike I abused for years as a teenager, I swapped a wire for the front gear shift and tried giving it a spin but the gears on the back are just horrendous, the back cassette is pretty worn out and the chain is pretty sad as well. Will changing the back cassette and chain give it new life or are there other parts I should look over as well? ~New too tinkering on bikes.
My bike isn't in much better shape. LOL
I am sorry, but this is not a problem of 3 years no service. This is 15 years of overgreasing and leaving it in a dusty garage. This is a total restoration, which would cost more than the bike is worth. I have had a bike that i rode for 25 years without regular service that did not look this bad.
There is absolutely no reason to disassemble deraileurs and such. this whole service would cost over $500 if done, more than once, or even twice the price of the price of a new bike.
When I see a men wearing his Rolex while working on the bike I know I'm in the right place 🙂
Modern bikes are not built to last, and you pay over 800 euro now for an average bike. I only have my bike about a year and a half, and the chain is already slipping over the teeth. Wouldn't you think with all the advancement in technology that they'd have cogs/teeth that would last longer? I remember the old high nelly bikes, they had one gear, and a chain that lasted for years. It's like they're not made to last at all these days.
Where can I buy those paint stickers?
Now I know what we pay for , you are like the David Attenborough of the bike world.
why don't service wheel bearings?
This person should get a bike that is belt drive with an internally geared hub. Good Lord! That is one of the worst I have seen.
this still doesn't describe my bike's condition.. better than the other ones with a clean bike from 2015
<looks guiltily at his commuter bike>

I'm SO sorry!
Excellent video but the full reset-to-idle animation this man does after every action makes me chuckle lol I was half expecting a T pose
Take a drink every time he says 'premium grease'
I found that wooden single use cutlery (the knives) are best to scrape old goo from chainrings and derailluers. Super cheap, can be used multiple times, doesnt scratch and have nice streight and non-streight (idk what its called) edge. Give it a try!
Nice video! Where did you find the grease station?
I'm glad I have a new definition of "poor bike maintenance".
Satisfying to watch. Thank you for this very nice video. Excellent work!
Huh, maybe i should bring in my bike… i got the bavk cassette and chain replaced but this vid makes me see how much more might need to be fixed (it's a very old second hand bike so i have 0 clue how old most components are)
I enjoy building these, always have to face the frame and fork though
I think my fire to bike repair renewed. Today i found time, to servise fully my deore derauleur, change transmission, but unfortunately steer was for tapered, and i have 1 1/8, so i need to order new, and give away this one to colegue, lol
This is neglect, if he did the bare minimum of lubing and cleaning it would last far longer and the damage would be less severe.
What about the hubs? They will need a service too.
I wish more bikes came in this color, what a beautiful green.
Wow you even saved the dork disk 😂
We used to get bikes like this come in all the time in the shop I worked at.
They'd usually come in asking for a gear adjustment or something not realising every single thing on their bike was worn out/rusted to death lol
Little bit of maintenance goes a long way huh.
