We were just in Ireland back in October and took a walking tour of Derry.
Our tour guide told us that she had a high school friend she hung out with that wrote a TV show based on their high school and set in the time they were in high school called Derry Girls.
When we got to the big Derry Girls mural we looked up and I don't know who cast Jamie-Lee O'Donnell as Michelle Mallon but it was a great job.
Our guide looked exactly like what the 2025 version of Michelle should look like.
We are all 100% convinced that our tour guide was the basis for the character of Michelle.
Her personality was exactly like the character.
We had her take a picture in front of the mural.
She was awesome.
I met her in 2019 when she was doing a show at the Royal Court. She was one of the nicest people ever and she had so much time for me, shook my hand, hugged me, chatted for ages, just a real big sweetheart. I also spied her earlier on in the day popping some money in the cup of a rough sleeper ❤
