Has to be the rotors as I've changed the previous pair of pads thinking they were the cause. No grease present. Sanding (both pads and rotors) makes the squeaking and clunking disappear for the first 2000 meters, but it eventually comes back after the system breaks in. The performance is good, it's just that embarrassing sound that bothers me.

    Did you readjust the calipers? May be the new rotors aren’t true? Just from the sound we can’t figure out what’s going on

  2. The rotors may be slightly larger, and your brake pads are now hitting the radial arms from the center, which causes the intermittent noise (which often manifests as “turkey gobble” when at speed).
