I’m looking to buy a carbon road bike, I’ve never owned a bike before but aiming to move more of my training volume to cycling to avoid injuries. I’m a pro runner, I’m spending a lot of time on the Wattbike atm but keen to get outside over the summer.
I’ve been looking at a Trek Madone sl5 gen 8 – new for £1999. I’m aware I can get significantly more bike second hand but I don’t know a lot about purchasing second hand. Please see the photos of my options! Any advice and recommendations are greatly appreciated!

you can get a bike fit before even purchasing which is ideal.
Because you’re fit and used to suffering you’ll likely put up with an incorrect fit, but you should have to!
That’s a significant discount, you’ll have the new bike warranty, and likely a good choice of sizes if you act quickly.
All good reasons to buy a new bike, vs looking for a reasonable priced used one.
