My full bike commute is 64km per day, but I can cut that at around 40km by grabbing the train or bus.
My biking season begins in april and snow is almost all gone but some bike lanes remain innaccessible. Public transport allow me to warm up (rain at 0-5c can be cold), build a routine and avoid snow paths.
Eventually I hope to bike the 32km in an hour

I opt for the train for a portion of my commute on stormy days.
Normally about a 10 mile ride. Or a 1 mile ride, train, and 1 mile ride, but the train adds quite a bit of time.
Not as part of my commute, but if I need to go further than what a bike can, absolutely
Yeah sometimes. It’s nice to have options. Just don’t be obnoxious and it’s not really an issue

Not for work but for other needs and to hit up portions of trails that are too far. I’m in an inner ring suburb of Milwaukee
Yes, I usually take the train back and my bike forth (15km)
Yep, 10 min ride at either end of the train £3 ride vs 40 mins walk at the ends or £7 in bus fare.
Yes! Using light rail takes my bike commute from 28 miles round trip to about 7 miles. And I get an hour and a half of quiet reading time each day.

Yes, our streetcar is free and it takes out the big hill on my commute, so some days I take it if I’m tired or my knee hurts or it’s raining ect.
I do, but not in conjunction with my bike commute.
I switch up my commute between riding my bike half the week, and taking the light rail (which involves a 2.5 mile walk from the train station to my work) the other half of the week, or in bad weather.
I’m Swiss, so I’ll only use public transportation if I can’t use my bike; if I have to get it on a train, it shall be a painful and expensive experience that shows how behind our country is regarding PT.
on the trip to work yeah ill do hybrid . on the way home i ride.
Not very often, and never for the work commute, as it only runs backwards.
Yes, I take the train with my bike for a portion of my comute
Yeah, I bike to train and ferry. Usually train to work and ferry home, since it’s a longer ride home from ferry terminal (but more pleasant).

I own a folding bike, it’s ideal for public transport. I mostly use the bike rack on the front of our city buses, but if they’re ever full, I can fold my bike down in about twenty seconds and just carry it on the bus.
I’ve used the EXO train for my commute part way, it’s great! I can have a longer or shorter ride depending on the weather or how I’m feeling that day.
32km/hr I find fast when there are others using the lanes, the extra gear a commuter hauls, and not to mention the rules of the road. I’ve also slowed down as I’ve aged, and I’ve learned to enjoy the ride for what it is.
