should I be concerned about these marks on a used 2023 rockhopper comp (said they came from move, otherwise hasn’t been used much and looks clean) or should I just go for the new gen at the bike shop?
Used on fb is asking $750 (would only go for it if I can get him down some)
New at shop at $1100 total
I am new to mtb so don’t need a lot of bells and whistles but want something that will last and is worth the money!

Those scratches appear to be more cosmetic than anything
Ask yourself if an extra $350 breaks the bank. If not, no reason to not buy new with a warranty and new components.
Buy new. Those qr axles are wack.
New rockhoppers have the better fork I think
