In this video Heather and Rick show you the Hitway BK6s bike, we put it through a variety of scenarios to give you an informed opinion on if it would suit you.

Hi, We’re Rick, Heather & our dog Poppy and we travel the U.K in our S&L Apollo camper van “Athena”
We film the places we visit as our own diary, these videos are meant as a little memento for us but we’re happy to share them with you if you want to watch.
We’re just an ordinary couple in our 50’s filming our adventures with basic equipment so don’t expect loads of flash camera action and super editing with great music.
We also film videos of work we have done on our van as well as van reviews for our reference of the next van we might buy. Occasionally there are hints & tips videos too. We do basic site and area reviews including if they’re dog friendly but they’re a guide only based on our opinions which may or may not help you make an informed decision on if you’d like the place.
We do a mix of off grid camping, pub stopovers plus real campsites too, hopefully something for everyone to enjoy!
Please leave us a comment on the videos, we love reading them and reply to each one.
We try to upload once a week so please consider subscribing to see our travels, it’s free and will really help us.
Thanks for watching!

  1. Great detailed review Rick, I’ve had a folding electric bike before, it was really handy for putting in the boot of the car and taking it for a cycle off the road, but I found the range on it dissapointing and in all fairness it was a better on road bike than off road and you indicated that with this Hitway you reviewed.
I have a Hitway BK15 E-mountain bike now, same controls as that one and has all the same functions.
They are solid well built bikes, good quality, heavy though and it makes it really tough for you if you try and cycle it on assist power above the indicated speed, rangewise I’m getting around 25 miles on a full charge on 2nd assist setting, that’s because I’m a heavy bloke as well.🥴

  2. Hi,
I certainly enjoyed your review of the Hitway 6BS. This was the bike was I had chosen to buy but not now after hearing your thoughts of it. I’m 6’ 4” too and I feel it would be too small and not powerful enough for me. I watched Heather trying out the Engwe L20 she loved it. Maybe I should consider that bike now. Which bike did you buy for yourself? The trouble I’m having too is finding a cycle shop that will work on these Chinese imports, did you have the same trouble.

  3. Great review Rick & Heather

Its a shame the bike weight cant be under 20kg's, 27.5 kg is a lot for many people.

When you remove the battery the electrical connectors appear to be exposed, does the bike come with a guard for when the battery is removed and left outside?

  4. A good review, I'm looking at getting a folding ebike due to health issues meaning i can no longer use my conventional bikes. This is certainly getting added to my list of possible purchases! I also think that 4" fat tyres seem a bit overkill for general cycling!
