You might be thinking that this footage was from my trip to Bulgaria earlier this year, but you are wrong! It was recorded yesterday in my hometown Varna. In this video now I will tell you why I moved back and what are my future plans.
I went to Germany in 2011 and the plan was to stay there a year and two. It took me 9 years before I was able to come back. As I said I never went there with the idea to stay and it was a matter of time to finally decide that I had enough. Germany is a nice country but it just not for me.
I am Bulgarian and I think that the best place for me in Bulgaria. I might be wrong but after everything that I have seen in the last 20 years traveling to many countries around the world, I seriously doubt.
I know that it is East Europe, I know that many things are not what they should, and I really don’t mind. From my experience, I never saw a person happy from his country or government. There is always something… I hope that you understand what I mean.
I have two topics that I would like to discuss with you. The first is the future of my channel, what you have to expect and the second is where is going to be my next adventure?
Number one: What you have to expect from my channel?
Two videos per week, on Monday and Friday. Monday video will be as usual some useful advice, motorcycle, or gear reviews. Friday video will be from the travel video series.
Many asked about videos with riding techniques. This is something that I don’t have any plans to do. Yes, I know how to ride but, in my opinion, to know how to ride and to be able to teach the people how to ride are two completely different things. Also, it varies from many circumstances, the rider skills, bike type, weather conditions, and many more.
My goal is to help you with anything that is related to long motorcycle trips. The things that I know from my personal experience and I have been using many times during my trips.
Now in Bulgaria, I won’t be able to test most of the new models as I did it before but I will many different opportunities, for example, to make videos that I was not able to do in Germany, because of some restrictions and so on. Also, I will have the chance to show you some unique places that you can find only in the Eastern European countries.
Let me now tell you what I plan for 2021. It is still an idea but once it gets into my mind it will become a reality very soon. Because of the current Coronavirus situation, it is not clear where we will be able to travel, especially around Europe and the Americas.
This of course could be used as a different approach to the whole travel idea, at least for me. Instead of focusing on the west (south and North America) as I planned last year, I will try to ride to the East.
I plan a trip to Magadan. I will try to include the Kamchatka Peninsula and Vladivostok. It will be a long and lonely ride with many unknown situations and questions without answers, but I am sure that it will be something that I will enjoy it. In my opinion, the most important skill that I will need on this trip is improvisation.
Being a Bulgarian, I am not afraid to jump on this boat because this is what I do to survive in the last 25 years, improvising every single day. The trip will start in Bulgaria and will finish in Bulgaria. What bike I am going to use and exactly the route I will publish later in the year.

  1. my best friend from bulgaria used to complain about expensive bills and low pay but she changed her job and got a better paying one and stopped complaining
it's the same here in Algeria but the bills arnt as expensive, and food is cheap, but our money lost too much of its value due to inflation after the oil crash
i had a german friend, and she used to complain about expensive train tickets but the trains wernt really good and they arrive late
and they also had to pay for rent and work part-time to earn their living, the living expenses are way more expensive than anywhere else
because its hard for someone to earn a land anywhere else besides his own country, you will always feel like a stranger when you live elsewhere

  2. Your excitement, passion and honesty are a pleasure to watch! I would like to share my thoughts with you as they are raw and honest. As a motorcycle enthusiast and a daydreamer about traveling, the comforting thought to overcome anxiety of the unknown is you and your experience. Having said that, if for example I find myself in country X, I would definitely want to have a motorcyclist guide with me, and you Pavlin would be the author I would choose. Maybe you have already done country specific guides, I'm not sure as I'm new to the channel, but when I am researching visiting a country to tour, I would like to see Pavlin's guide on the country's official website. The ministries of tourism in countries should contract you to create a motorcycle travel guide of that country. Wishful thinking maybe, but I wanted to share how I feel at the moment should this be useful to you. I'm sure there are others that would want an invaluable resource like this. Take for example all the videos you are doing in Bulgaria right now, the ministry of tourism should get in touch with you as you are a great ambassador for your country! Based on your videos, I would love to visit your beautiful country and would feel so much better if I had Pavlin's guide to motorcycle adventures, Bulgaria edition.

  3. Berlin is not a motorcycle friendly city. The only advantage it has is its fantastic infrastructure which allows for very wide pavements and you can park on those payments. This is a luxury in the city centre. But that is all. Otherwise it is full off boring straight roads with thousands of traffic lights, pot holes, slippery cobbled roads, dangerous tram tracks and for a city where everything else is big, the lanes are too narrow. It is impossible to filter. Nor are you allowed to filter. Not to mention that it is gridlocked most of the time too; your engine will overheat.

  4. Браво! Смело решение! За съжаление не успяхме да се видим в Берлин но се надявам някой ден в България на по бира да обсъдим пътешествията и преживяванията които сме имали. Ще ми е интересно да чуя повече 🙏 поздрави от Берлин

  5. I'm very happy to learn of your plans to travel in Russia. I continue to do your online course but with the virus I have become a bit discouraged. Hopefully it will be easier to live our lives in 2021. Thanks for your videos. 73, Mike

  6. Palvin you speak with your thoughts and convictions from your heart ❤️ and mind you’re a good role model and a great teacher. .Marjan! ✅🌎🏍🌈💦

  7. In mid 70s we would remove the back seat from our Skoda 1000 mb, pack it full of camping gear, home made windsurfer (my dad won 2nd place in the first polish windsurfing championship) and make the trip from Poland to the black sea in Bulgaria. What memories, the sun, the orchards, the warm water, the cliffs we jumped off, the local family we made friends, my dad and new "uncle" free diving for crabs, being chased by farmers for maybe taking few fruits from the trees and air blown popcorn in a paper funnel. You are lucky that Bulgaria is your home. Lots of opinions out there, but most people have not seen things or done things. After Poland (remember standing in lines for everything as a little kid) it was USA for 30 years, then with my flying job the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Denmark and finally Indonesia. In todays crazy times and with what is still to come, using "old" criteria for where to live and what to value can not be used. Today for people who understand bit about the world, who are responsible for their own destination and don't want to or rely on government promises of "free sh*t", the only thing that matters is freedom. Croatia was fantastic, with bit of that communism left, with few good friends in the right places, a smile everything was possible. Here in Indonesia, with all the shortcomings, I am free to do anything within reason. No one ever has chased me off a field or dirt road. People smile and are surprised that a "white" guy is at their village. Once you buy ice cream for the kids you get a meal and sometimes offer a potential wife. So my 150cc Honda CRF150L and I are free to explore and live.

  8. Didn’t know you were from Bulgaria. My wife is from Blagoevgrad, and I fell in love with Bulgaria. The hike around Bansko and Rila mountains were truly unforgettable. I am Korean/Italian, and we live and work in US. For sure, we plan to retire in Bulgaria. You have fantastic channel. I have been following your videos for a while now as I plan to make my 35 years old dream come true, to take my Moto Guzzi across the world before we move to Bulgaria.
“improvisation” indeed. Life is full of entropy, and improvisation and kindness make a person, …a better person. Good luck with your future endeavors, and hope to have Rakkia shots together one day in future.

  9. Awesome man. I made the same decision, when i move from Austria to my birth place in Serbia after 6 years, and all the reasons why you came back to Bulgaria i can agree totally with all that and say that is totally true. Wish you all the best and safe adventure riding in upcoming time. cheers 🍻

  10. I hear you Pavlin, Every country has its problems and usually we all have a crap government against the people and pro the wealthy corporations. My country Ireland is no different and getting harder here to live.
I have heard stories of Bulgaria being full of crime, but so is everywhere else, Ireland is no exception. I remember you fell down the pothole with your bike in Ireland that was unfortunate yet funny! Shows how tough the Yamaha is. The pictures I have seen of Bulgaria look very nice. Best of luck On your next travels and living at home

  11. going back home your are very right my friend.
we indonesìans say "eventhoug raining stones in own country, better than raining gold in other peoples country"

  12. yo man! In this tipe of long trips the hard part is not with some possible technical issues. The worst fight is with your own mind. And yes, being from East Europe helps sh@_t alot! 🙂
If you don;t have places to find bikes… go in Romania.

  13. My partner and I are both riders & fell in love with Bulgaria on holiday in 2004 and had plans to retire and ride here ever since. The first part finally came true in 2019 and we happily retired to the Vratsa region as loved the nature and rawness here. However, after experiencing some drivers, riders and hospitals here, we became too concerned to ride here. Especially as Bulgaria has the highest accident rate in EU I believe. Would like your take on this is you have time as we both miss our bike riding. Thanks
