My daily set up

A co-worker told me I should post my “set up”here. I need to preface this with, I have never been much of a bike guy. I don’t know any types of bikes or anything I just know my bike is blue and black. My parents got me this Trek when I was, 15 or 16? So about 12 years ago? Someone more knowledgeable might know more about what model this is. I have been riding it to work for a long time now. It has held up very well. I have always viewed bikes as a super efficient mode of transportation. More people should be on them. And I am a very cheap person I don’t like spending money on things, like gas.

My co-worker thinks it’s a funny bike to commute with but it has worked for this long so it can’t be that bad. I installed the back wheel thing myself to strap things too. It works ok. No reaserch has ever been done to improve this set up and I have no plans to change anything atm.
