I PITY THE FOOL! 1st of April and we are deep in the Buckinghamshire bush. Today we’re exploring the “Daily Planet” and saying a final goodbye to an iconic Milton Keynes landmark before it’s gone forever.

From the 1980 Peace Pagoda to the derelict remains of The Point cinema, it’s a heavy dose of nostalgia today. I’m showing you where Christopher Reeve filmed Superman 4, the Cliff Richard “Wired for Sound” locations, and recreating a 1983 photo of “Mini-Meat” at Willen Lake.

In today’s portion of meat:

Superman 4 Locations: The “Daily Planet” (MK Train Station) and the famous flying jump spot. 🦸‍♂️🎬

The Point: A final look at the UK’s first multiplex before it becomes flats. 🏗️😭

The Peace Pagoda: 43 years later, I’m back on the steps. 📸

Van Life Reality: Navigating the “Concrete Jungle” roundabouts and finding a sneaky MK park-up. 🚐💨

  1. I see Milton Keynes has its fair share of potholes. There’s certainly a lot more to Milton Keynes than the concrete cows! It’s good to go back and reminisce before we forget it all. I’ve never been to Mylton Keynes, but I have now. Thanks for taking us along👍

  2. It has the feeling that they asked a roller coaster designer to do the point, certainly had that type of look, when I lived in Oxford we would go to MK shopping in the late 90s, it was a strange place back then like you say had an American feel to it.

Good feature length episode of TDM

  3. Great video Rob really enjoyed that tour of MK. I must say that I'm very disappointed to find out Superman couldn't fly for real. I guess you will be telling me next Santa's not real! Please keep the daily videos coming, best wishes
