Hi there,

I am trying to fit my new front basket, but there is not enough clearance for my bigger cargo cages.

Is it safe to mount the supporting tubes to inner fork eyelets? I am a bit afraid of tyre clearance (it is about 10 mm), stability and overall safety.

Alternatively, I could mount smaller cargo cages at front and run the bigger ones in the main triangle, but… wanna be efficient and bigger stuff may rub against my legs when peddaling (not tested yet).

Any advice?

I ran into the same issue, the inner mounts work fit but seem a bit less stable due to the angles. The easiest solution was to use some 5mm thick spacers and longer bolts to mount the cages, this moves them slightly out and back so they don’t contact the rack struts. HTH!

I agree with using spacers on the cargo cages so the rack mounts can go on the outside.

I just wanted to say that I also have recently installed the Blackburn Grid Rack Basket on my Marin Larkspur, and am really digging it so far! The setup was a little fiddly, because of all the different adjustment points, but it’s been solid since!
